Barack Obama

US Government

President of the United States of America

18

The most important person in the world.

What’s the Prez doing on a list like this, you ask? He was the first President to email in the Whitehouse, and famously refused to give up his BlackBerry, saying they would have to “pry it from his hands” before he gives it up. Not to mention his inspiring use of every available social networking site in his campaign, with profiles littered on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and even non-relevant sites such as Glee (a gay and lesbian site), Migente (a Latino network) and MySpace (ie, he’s not 16 years old with a cameraphone).

Having appointed fellow Tech 100 personality Julius Genachowski as the head of the FCC, Obama is well versed in the world of technology, and even uses a Mac, if rumours are to be believed.
