For its first few years of existence, the PS3 looked like it might be an also-ran. No more: the PS3 Slim galvanised sales and crystallised the console’s position as the best of its generation.

It should soon pass into profit, is catching up with the Xbox in terms of sales and is almost single-handedly keeping the Blu-ray bandwagon afloat.

“Kaz”, as much as the economies of scale that kick in this far into a product’s lifespan, is the main reason for that.
