Mysterious founder who breaks the news.
The faceless Boy Genius founded his blog in late 2006, quickly amassing a reputation as being the first site to visit for breaking news on mobile devices. Speaking to T3, he boasted that big scoops from the past 12 months include an article on the BlackBerry Thunder, or Storm as it’s now known, months before RIM even officially announced it.
He managed to grease fingerprints all over the Bold, Nokia E71, Palm Pre and second Amazon Kindle weeks before other publications, with his reviews proving lengthy reads for the minute detail-inclined.
A big BlackBerry fan, Boy Genius told us he can’t live without his Bold, but also uses an iPhone 3GS to maintain a healthy work/life balance. Those two handsets, coupled with the HTC Hero “are currently the best of the best, and in my opinion, the most meaningful to consumers and the industry as a whole”.
